Car monthly$0

Transit monthly$0

Rideshare monthly$0

Bike monthly$0

How it works

Car cost uses round-trip distance, workdays, cost per kilometer, parking, and tolls. Transit uses the pass price, rideshare uses two one-way fares per workday, and bike uses your monthly bike cost.

If hourly wage is above zero, each mode also includes round-trip commute time multiplied by workdays and hourly wage. The cheapest mode is based on direct cost plus optional time cost.

Frequently asked questions

What commute modes can I compare?
The calculator compares car, transit pass, rideshare, and bike. Each mode has a different cost model so you can compare realistic monthly totals.
How is car commute cost calculated?
Car cost uses round-trip distance, workdays per month, cost per kilometer, parking, and tolls. Cost per kilometer can include fuel, maintenance, depreciation, or your own estimate.
How does optional time cost work?
If you enter an hourly wage, the calculator adds commute time value to each mode. Set hourly wage to 0 if you want direct cash cost only.
Can I use this for hybrid work?
Yes. Enter only the workdays you actually commute in a typical month.
Should I include parking at home?
Include only costs that change because of commuting. If you pay for parking regardless of commute mode, leave it out.
