This Privacy Policy explains what happens to your information when you use WorthCalc. The short version: every calculator runs inside your own browser, we do not collect the numbers you type in, and this page tells you exactly what third-party services (like advertising) might still set cookies on your device.

Calculator data

All calculators on WorthCalc — installment APR, subscription audit, Costco membership, EV vs. gas, rent vs. buy, commute cost, latte factor, and cashback break-even — run entirely as JavaScript in your browser. There is no custom backend server that receives the prices, income figures, loan terms, or any other numbers you enter. Nothing you type into a calculator is transmitted to us (with one exception: if you actively choose "send the exported file to my inbox", that file passes through our email service for that delivery only — see the email collection section below). Some calculators may save your inputs in your browser's localStorage purely so your numbers are still there if you reload the page; that data stays on your device and is never uploaded. You can clear it at any time from the tool itself or from your browser's site data settings.

Email collection (newsletter and file delivery)

There are two situations where this site collects your email, and both happen only when you actively provide it: (1) you voluntarily subscribe to the newsletter; (2) you choose "send the file to my inbox" in a calculator's export feature. In those cases the site collects your email address and the name of the calculator used, stored and delivered through the Brevo (Sendinblue) email service. An exported file you choose to have emailed is used only for that delivery and is not retained by the site. We use your email only to send the file you requested, new-calculator announcements, and site updates; it is never sold or shared with third-party advertisers. Every email includes an unsubscribe option, and you can contact us to have your email data deleted. If you prefer not to provide an email, results remain fully viewable and copyable on the page.

Google AdSense and third-party advertising cookies

WorthCalc is supported by advertising, including Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites, and to measure ad performance. This is sometimes called "personalized" or "interest-based" advertising.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings at www.google.com/settings/ads. Analytics

We may use a privacy-conscious analytics tool (such as Google Analytics) to understand aggregate traffic patterns — for example, which calculators are used most, and which pages need improvement. Analytics data is reported in aggregate and is not linked to the numbers you enter into a calculator, because that data never leaves your browser in the first place.

Email updates

If you choose to join the WorthCalc email list, we collect the email address you submit and use it to send the financial decision checklist and occasional alerts about new calculators. The signup form is processed through our shared newsletter endpoint and email provider, Brevo. We do not sell your email address, and calculator inputs are never attached to your email signup.

Every marketing email should include an unsubscribe link. You can use that link to stop future email updates, or contact us at [email protected] if you need help with removal.

Cookies

Cookies used on this site fall into two categories: cookies we set ourselves for basic site functionality (such as remembering your language preference), and cookies set by third-party services like Google AdSense and analytics providers as described above. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings; doing so may affect ad personalization but will not affect the calculators, since they do not depend on cookies to function.

Children's privacy

WorthCalc is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when a new calculator is added or when our advertising setup changes. The "updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
